Today at Learn Build Fly
The Education Center
In 2022, construction began on a second educational hangar, allowing for expanded collaboration with local groups like EAA Chapter 640, Wausau Downtown Airport, area schools, and Wausau RC Sports. Today Hangar 2 is host to our continuing Wittman Legacy build, and hosts many classes and events throughout the year.
Wittman Legacy
Our current home-built aircraft project is the melding of Steve Wittman’s Buttercup and Tailwind design into an aircraft we call the Wittman Legacy. With the fuselage and wings covered and painted, engine, control panel, and wiring work reaching the end, we are working on fuel and exhaust systems as well as finalizing engine baffling and controls.
Classes & Events
Current and upcoming events include LED Electronics Wiring and Coding Class; Ground School, Scholarship and Grand Writing Workshop, and Armed Forces Day.
We are proud to host the following events:
Air Venture Cup Race
Armed Forces Day
EAA Museum Aircraft Repairs
Rib repairs for EAA museum aircraft to be done by EAA 640 with LearnBuildFly. We are currently working on rib for a 1929 Pheasant H-10.
